González and Gates: Enemies of the Left

What do Elian Gonzalez and Bill Gates have in common? They are both the targets of Janet Reno and her corrupt, partisan Justice Department. The richest man on the planet and perhaps the poorest boy on the planet have both become Co-Enemy Number One of the most crooked Department of Justice in American political history.

And as much as we might all want to blame it on this pathetic example of an Attorney General, the real fault is running for the US Senate from New York: Hillary Rodham Clinton.

No fool she, the very first move made by the Clintons in 1992 immediately following the election was to name their crony Webster Hubbell to the key string-pulling position in the Justice Department. From there he was to be Hillary and Bill’s "eyes and ears” -- keeping tabs on potential investigations of their seedy and illicit behavior.

This was a surefire sign that Hillary knew that she planned many acts of malfeasance. She just wanted to make certain that she could escape the legal ramifications of her perfidy.

From the Inaugural on, the Clintons have purposely and deliberately broken the law and abused the various investigative arms of the federal government.

The FBI, once considered above reproach and "above politics,” has been turned into the Clintons’ own team of spinners and cover-up artists.

Beginning with the still-unexplained death of Vince Foster, the DOJ and the FBI allowed illegal practices and procedures to become the norm. When the Clinton crew determined that FBI Director William Sessions would not be their patsy they sacked him -- on the very day that Vince Foster decided to whack himself after eating a hamburger.

From then on the Clintons have run amok throughout Washington -- with impunity and virtual immunity. Each and every time they have crossed the line they have used their dupe, Janet Reno, to cover up their transgressions. From the FBI files to the Red Chinese donations to the Clinton 1996 campaign, from the Fiske/Starr investigations to Travelgate, Janet ‘Waco’ Reno has cleverly used DOJ not to prosecute wrongdoing but to protect the Clintons. Plain and simple.

Now we have the sad plight of little Elian coupled with the lawsuit against Bill Gates. How are they linked? Well, a communist would link them together this way: the state owns Elian, so he must go back to Havana; and Gates, as the ‘king’ of capital, must be brought to his knees to set an example that capitalism is a bad thing.

Hillary and Bill are again using their Department of Justice to implement their social order: to side with Castro and to punish the creation of wealth.

Have you even heard one word of condemnation by any Clinton administration appointee of Castro’s barbaric rule in Cuba? No! This administration believes that Bill Gates is a bigger enemy of this country that Castro! Joel Klein, the DOJ anti-trust czar, has taken a more aggressive tone against Gates and Microsoft than Madeleine Albright has or Janet Reno has toward Castro and his communist dictatorship. This is indicative of the Clintons’ true stripe. They are committed leftists who never met a communist they didn’t like.

Bill Gates deserves some of his present travail because, like many big businessmen, he heavily contributed to the very Democratic Party that is now going after him tooth and nail. These businessmen are often liberal; they also sometimes play both sides and donate money to both parties.

Gates should have learned a basic lesson from this sad affair: liberal democrats hate private wealth and view the federal government as having a moral duty to seize that wealth and redistribute it. This is a primary tenet of the New Left. Since the days of George McGovern, these extremists -- remember, the two Clintons worked hard for McGovern in 1992 -- have been advocates of Robin Hood programs. Take from the rich and give to the poor.

Gates is so rich that Clinton can get away with it; after all, who can relate to losing $12 billion in one day?

But the bigger point is to show that the Clintons are using their last days in the White House to leave their mark -- and to feather their post-White House days with trial lawyers.

And, with little Elian, the Clintons are again demonstrating their sympathies with their fellow "comrade” in the fight against capitalism, Fidel.
